Al-Aman means ‘safety’ in Arabic. DVIP’s Al-Aman Project works with Arabic-speaking communities in London. We support women who experience domestic violence, and their children; and we work with men to end their violent and abusive behaviour.
We support Arabic-speaking women and men to use DVIP’s services, and we offer individual support as an alternative when this is not possible.
Through outreach work, we’re raising awareness of the support Arabic speakers need, and we’re helping mainstream services as they respond to domestic violence in Arabic-speaking communities.
We have close links with many community organisations and mosques. In partnership with religious and community leaders, we’re developing effective ways of reducing domestic violence.
